Say what you want about Bikram, but the sequence is biomechanically brilliant. Twenty-six poses, done in the same order, systematically working through all fifteen movement archetypes. It’s not random. It’s engineered.
Note on Numbering: The “26+2” name refers to 26 poses plus 2 breathing exercises, though the exact count varies by school. Some include Pranayama in the 26, others count it as “+1.” The Bikram Sit-Up is practiced but not always numbered. Head-to-Knee and Stretching are sometimes separate poses (making it 27), sometimes combined (keeping it 26). We’re presenting the complete modern sequence with all elements clearly identified.
